Mega Syariah, A Bank Owned By Chairul Tanjung Conglomerate Serves Account Opening Through Video Call

JAKARTA - Bank Mega Syariah is ready to release M-Syariah mobile banking application which will be the first and only application that can open an account without the need to make a video call and come to the branch office.

President Director of Bank Mega Syariah Yuwono Waluyo said that the presence of M-Syariah is not only a substitute for mobile banking services owned by Chairul Tanjung Ccnglomerate before but also expected to be a solution to the banking needs of the community in times of pandemic.

"We understand that in the midst of pandemic conditions like today, people need a service that is fast and accessible from anywhere. Therefore, we accelerate the digitization of our services, so that the process is more efficient and can provide the best service for customers", said Yuwono quoted from Antara, Tuesday, April 13.

Director of Operation &Transformation Slamet Riyadi added that not only presents mobile banking services in general, M-Syariah is also equipped with Islamic features such as ZISWAF, Qibla Direction, Nearest Mosque, and Prayer Schedule.

"Embedding this Islamic feature as part of the effort to provide services more than just banking services or beyond banking. M-Syariah comes with a new paradigm, a revolution over real digital solutions", said Slamet.

It can certainly be an added value of M-Syariah services for the community ahead of Ramadan 1442 Hijri. According to Slamet, M-Syariah users will be easier to fulfill the obligation to pay zakat (charity) or make donations and waqf with a wide selection of Amil Zakat Institutions available.

He said that people who want to experience opening digital savings quickly and easily can already download M-Syariah in the AppStore and PlayStore. By opening 'Tabungan Berkah Digital iB', customers also have the opportunity to get a variety of attractive promos.

"Simply by opening savings worth at least IDR 200.000, customers will get a direct gift in the form of e-vouchers to shop online at leading marketplaces", said Slamet.

Slamet added that the launch plan is also carried out as a strategy to support the growth of Bank Mega Syariah's business in the future that will focus on the retail segment. Bank Mega Syariah itself experienced significant growth even in the midst of the pandemic.

In 2020, profit before zakat and income tax amounted to IDR 173.32 billion, an increase of 161.81 percent compared to 2019. The achievement was supported by an increase in assets that increased 101.28 percent to IDR 16.12 trillion.
