Lampung Police Arrest Perpetrators Of Coffee Embezzlement Worth IDR 10.36 Billion

Lampung Police revealed cases of fraud and embezzlement with a loss of Rp. 10.36 billion by the Director of PT. Adera Ramanda Group Ahmad Ramadan (27).

"The suspect was arrested by the Tekab Team 308 Precise of the Lampung Police Ditreskrimum in a rented house in Pasir Kaliki, North Cimahi, West Java, on November 29, 2024, after being fugitive since September," said the Lampung Regional Police's Dirkrimum Kombes Pahala Simanjuntak as reported by ANTARA, Monday, December 2.

This case began on September 5, 2024, when Ahmad Ramadan received the produce of coffee beans and pepper from two victims, M. Rozikin, a farmer from West Lampung, and Natalia, a private worker from Bandarlampung.

With a total weight of 151,191.6 kilograms, the item is worth IDR 10.36 billion.

The suspect promised payment two days after the goods were handed over to the company's warehouse. "However, the promise was not kept," he said.

When the victims confirmed to the buyer, they found the payment had been made, but the suspect did not give the money and disappeared without a trace.

After the official report was made on September 12, 2024, the Operational Team of Unit 3 Sub-Directorate III Jatanras Ditreskrimum Polda Lampung began an investigation.

Pahala said the arrests were made with the security of a number of evidences, including two luxury cars, valuable jewelry, vehicle documents, and property assets worth billions of rupiah," he explained.

"We managed to arrest the suspect along with evidence that was the result of his crime. This fraud was carried out in a planned manner with a very large loss value. We will ensure that the suspect is responsible for his actions in accordance with the applicable law," he said.
