Palace: Teacher's Welfare Allowance Targets 1.9 Million People By 2025
JAKARTA - Head of the Presidential Communication Office Hasan Nasbi said the additional welfare allowance for teachers would target 1.9 million people by 2025 with a total budget announced by the President of IDR 81 trillion.
Hasan detailed that President Prabowo Subianto will increase the budget for teacher welfare allowances by Rp. 16.7 trillion to Rp. 81 trillion by 2025, which will gradually be aimed at by all teachers in Indonesia, which currently amounts to 2.9 million people.
"So, in total in 2025, the number of teachers who get an increase in welfare is 1.9 million people. Later in the coming years the number will be increased, because now our teachers are around 2.9 million people," Hasan said while giving a press statement at the President's office. Jakarta reported by ANTARA, Monday, December 2.
Hasan explained that there were an additional 600 thousand teachers who received welfare benefits. This amount adds to the provision of allowances from the government which had previously been given to 1.3 million teachers.

ASN teachers will receive an additional welfare of one basic salary, while welfare allowances for non-ASN teachers are increased to IDR 2 million per month.
Hasan gave an example of a teacher who has a certificate before 2024, who has received a non-ASN welfare allowance of IDR 1.5 million. In 2025, the allowance will increase to IDR 2 million.

"In 2024 there will be around 600,000 ASN and non-ASN teachers who will receive certificates. In 2025, they immediately get an additional allowance of Rp. 2 million. So, he didn't start from Rp. 1.5 million first, he immediately received Rp. 2 million," Hasan said.
