KPU Ensures Dismissal Of West Java KPU Chair Ummi Wahyuni As Evaluation Material
The General Election Commission (KPU) of West Java (Jabar) has confirmed the dismissal of West Java KPU Chairman Ummi Wahyuni by the Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP) of the Republic of Indonesia as an evaluation material.
"So the evaluation material for the West Java KPU in overseeing the stages of the West Java Pilkada to be more careful. In the recapitulation stage, all voice counting streaming videos should be opened transparently. There is a recap technique that recapitulation in sub-districts, districts/cities, and each province is broadcast live via streaming on various channels, "said the Head of the West Java KPU Socialization, Voter Education and Community Participation Division (Sosdiklih Parmas) Hedi Ardia when contacted, Monday, December 2, confiscated by Antara.
Hedi explained that the issue of differences in votes at the West Java IX electoral district, especially the Sumedang area, was also due to the inaccuracy of witnesses in the recapitulation.
"Yes, if there is a difference in the results with what happened in the IX electoral district, especially Sumedang. What has been signed by us and agreed upon by the witness, yes, we certainly don't do the examination again, because it was before it was signed that there was a funeral process by the witness. This means that there should be no problem. But in the future there will be problems, we also don't know," he said.
Hedi said the West Java KPU would still ensure that the Pilkada stages would not be disrupted even though West Java KPU chairman Ummi Wahyuni was dismissed from her position.
"What is certain is that we are saddened by the decision (dismissal). We will hold a plenary meeting to determine the next steps. We also ensure that the 2024 simultaneous regional elections are not disturbed by the DKPP decision. Hopefully the plenary meeting can be tomorrow," said Hedi.
Although it is not certain when the plenary meeting will be held by the West Java KPU, of course the DKPP has ordered the KPU to carry out the decision no later than seven days after the verdict is read, and furthermore, there will be parties appointed to be interim chairman.
"Later, the PLT must be appointed. The executor of the task within 1x24 hours. We have to plenary determine who the PLT is, before we determine the plenary session to determine the definitive chairman," said Hedi.
The results of the DKPP decision, Hedi said, were binding. Ummi Wahyuni was confirmed to have resigned from her position as Chairman of the KPU. However, he will still serve as Commissioner of the KPU.
"This decision is final and binding, dismissed from his position as chairman. Still a commissioner. Only the position of chairman is removed," he said.
Previously it was announced that the Chairman of the West Java KPU, Ummi Wahyuni, was dismissed from his position. This was conveyed by the Chairman of the Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP) of the Republic of Indonesia, Heddy Lugito on Monday.
The reading of the decision was made in the Reading Session of the Decision of seven Cases of Alleged Election Organizer Code of Ethics (KEPP) which was broadcast live on the Indonesian DKPP YouTube. Heddy said the DKPP granted the complainant's request addressed to Ummi Wahyuni.
In the complaint report read out by members of the reader's assembly, DKPP has examined and handed down a decision on the violation of the code of ethics submitted by Syarif Hidayat or Eep Hidayat, referred to as a complainant. The complaint report was addressed to Ummi Wahyuni as Chairman of the West Java KPU, who was referred to as a defendant.
Chronology was read out by one of the DKPP members. Facts started from the examination hearing on March 6-11, 2024. At that time, an open meeting was held to determine the results of the West Java provincial election, that the West Java electoral districts IX, which included Sumedang, Majalengka, and Subang, had been plenary on the first, third, and fifth days.
However, before the signing was carried out, there was no attempt by the Chairman of the West Java KPU, Ummi Wahyuni to check the truth and suitability of the documents to be signed. It was revealed the fact that the D form against the difference in votes of the Nasdem party in West Java IX was in serial number 5. There was a difference in the 4,015 vote which made the addition of votes to certain candidates.
