Astronauts Conduct Botani Experiments At Space Station
JAKARTA The 72 expedition crew at the International Space Station (ISS) has prepared a botanical experiment on Friday, November 29. On the same day, the crew is also preparing to return the Dragon plane.
Some time ago, NASA Aviation Technician Nick Hague processed an radiation-resistant Arthrospira C microalga sample. This sample container has been removed and replaced with a new set, then put back in the BioLab incubator.
In the future, all of these samples will be exposed to different light intensity. As long as light exposure is carried out, the NASA astronaut will observe whether the intensity of light will affect the growth of microalga cells.
NASA deliberately commissioned this experiment because the space agency believes that microalga cell observers, "can advance developers of spacecraft life support systems and production of fresh food on future space missions."

Meanwhile, another crew member, the Station Commander, Suni Williams, collected hardware for the Advanced Plant Habitat operation. After that, Williams collected water samples from the device distribution reservoir before installing Plant Habitat-07.
Plant Habitat-07 is a science vehicle that houses the Outredgenous romaine lettuce plant. This plant will grow in microphone gravity and crew members will assess how different amounts of water can affect the growth of plants in space.
"The results can identify how different humidity environments change the production and content of lettuce nutrients that grow in space and can improve the way food crops grow on Earth," NASA explained in its blog.
The entire Expedition 72 crew has also prepared Dragon spacecraft to return to Earth. They have packed various equipment to be brought home. The plan, this is to take off from the Harmony module on December 5.
