Files Alleged Sexual Harassment Of Tunadaksa Disability In NTB Examined By Research Prosecutors

NTB - The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police (Polda) handed over the case file for alleged sexual harassment of a person with a disability without the initials IWAS to the Prosecutor's Office.

"So, now we are just waiting for the completeness of the prosecutor (research results). If the prosecutor is okay, P-21 (the file is declared complete), as soon as possible we will transfer the suspect and evidence," said the Director of General Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimum) of the NTB Police, Kombes Pol. Syarif Hidayat in Mataram, Monday, December 2, confiscated by Antara.

By conveying these developments, he hopes that the handling of the case belonging to the IWAS suspect can be included in the settlement of the case in 2024.

"Hopefully in the current year everything can be clear, including the cases that are our arrears," he said.

Syarif said investigators had completed the file belonging to the IWAS suspect with strong evidence, including the statements of two victims, witnesses, the results of the victim's post-mortem, and information from a psychologist from the Indonesian Psychology Association (HIMPSI).

Investigators in the file stated that the suspect IWAS as a disabled person had committed immoral acts with verbal communication modes that could affect the victim's attitude and psychology.

"So, this perpetrator seems to have built a perception of pressure on the victim by utilizing the condition of the victim who is weak, so that the victim can be controlled and follow the perpetrator's orders. That is information from the two victims that we have examined," said Syarif.

So in the file, he said, investigators applied the suspicion of Article 6 letter c of Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning the crime of sexual violence (TPKS).

According to him, regarding the alleged other victims of the IWAS suspect, his party has not included this in the completeness of the file.

"For indications of other victims, we will investigate later, it will only appear, if the two victims from this case, the previous victim, we have conducted an examination," he said.

For the whereabouts of the suspect, he said, investigators did not make arrests by considering the status of IWAS as a person with disabilities who did not have both arms.
