Dewa United Holds Dewa U12 Festival To Find Seeds For Young Footballers
JAKARTA - Director of the Dewa United Academy Firman Utina said Dewa United focused on finding and fostering young football talents, one of which was by holding the U12 Children's Festival at JSI Resort Megamendung, Bogor, West Java, on Saturday and Sunday this week.
"We focus on rolling out early childhood coaching, especially for U10 and U12 years. We want to see the best talents from an early age," Firman said in his official statement in Jakarta on Sunday.
Through this festival, Dewa United hopes that young football players will show their talents so that they can continue to be monitored and developed by their parents and coaches.
"Especially for this U-12, they are heading to the age of U-14 and U-16 years. There is a range of ages of four years to see their progress in their respective SSBs," said Firman, who was once the best player in the 2010 AFF Cup.
In December 2023, Dewa United held a similar festival on its base in Pagedangan, Tangerang, where the best players at this festival will be offered the opportunity to join Dewa United.
A total of 25 football schools participated in this festival which was divided into six groups. On the first day, they focused on completing the group stage, then competing in the last 12 to the final on the second day.
