Prabowo: Labor Welfare Is Something Very Important, We Will Continue To Fight
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto announced an increase in the national minimum wage average by 6.5 percent for 2025, because labor welfare is something very important.
"The welfare of workers is very important. We will continue to strive for the improvement of their welfare," said President Prabowo Subianto in his announcement at the Presidential office, Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, November 29.
In a meeting with the leaders of associations and labor representatives, the President said that the Free Nutrition Food Program for children and pregnant women is also an additional welfare for workers.
The President decided on the average budget for nutritious meals for each child and pregnant woman, which is Rp. 10 thousand per day, so that if workers have families with three children, they receive assistance worth Rp. 30 thousand per day or around Rp. 2.7 million per month.
Meanwhile, the President of the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI) and the President of the LaborSaid Party Iqbal, said that President Prabowo's meeting with the leaders of labor associations took place at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Friday afternoon, for more than two hours.

During his meeting, President Prabowo only discussed the issue of increasing the national minimum wage in 2025 by about 15 minutes.
"Pak Prabowo explained more about unity, yes, that we must build together, all people are invited to build a strong economy. Talk more about the discussion, only the last one about the minimum wage is only about 15 minutes," said Said Iqbal.
SaidIqbal assessed that the increase in the national minimum wage was received by representatives of workers because it was close to the proposed increase of eight percent.
He hopes that the sectoral minimum wage can approach the proposal of eight percent or higher than the district/city minimum wage.
