Deputy Minister Of Home Affairs Says President Prabowo Asks Ministry Of Home Affairs To Pay Attention To Problems In Papua

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Bima Arya Sugiarto said his party was asked to pay attention to the problems that occurred in the Papua region.

Moreover, he said, President Prabowo Subianto has clearly placed Papua as one of the main focuses in the development agenda in Indonesia.

"If Papua gets special attention from Mr. President Prabowo, of course it must be lowered, explained by all of us as assistants to the president," Bima said during the Papua Province Bimtek activity on Entrepreneurship, Accounting, and Reporting in the Information System of the Regional Government of the Republic of Indonesia (SIPD-RI) in Jakarta, Friday, November 29, was confiscated by Antara.

The Ministry of Home Affairs was also encouraged to take special steps to solve problems that are still happening on Cenderawasih Earth.

He explained that the government is very concerned about the Papuan people. This is reflected in the significant budget allocation.

Based on the results of monitoring and evaluation (monev), from 2002 to 2021, the budget for Papua has reached Rp100 trillion.

"(The special autonomy) funds (special autonomy) are around Rp. 75 trillion, and the remaining additional infrastructure funds are around Rp. 24 trillion," he said.

The distribution of the budget, he continued, has had a positive impact, especially in increasing the Papua Human Development Index (IPM).

The proof is that the Papuan HDI is no longer in the low category, but has increased into the medium category.

"The IPM grew because of the affirmation action and the HDI grew because of the very large budget allocation," said Bima.

Bima also sees the natural potential in the six provinces in Tanah Papua as extraordinary. According to him, this can support the affirmative action policy implemented.

"The effectiveness of the action is also extraordinary. Of course how we absorb the funds, how we execute the program, and account for it must also be extraordinary. Hope is great," he said.

He warned that adding a budget every year alone is not enough. This is because the most important thing is to ensure that the distribution of the budget has an impact on the welfare of the community and economic growth in Papua.

Furthermore, Bima said that President Prabowo is targeting national economic growth to reach 8 percent.

This is important as a step to put Indonesia in the top five positions of the world economy in 2045.

Therefore, to realize it, each province needs to make a significant contribution to economic growth.

"Every province must have problems. Therefore, Bimtek is like this, sessions like this, actually unraveling what obstacles are faced so that the APBD is not well absorbed," explained Bima.

He emphasized that if the APBD is not well absorbed, then the economic growth of an area will not increase.

Therefore, the transparency and accountability system is an urgent need in the administration of local governments.

Moreover, in the midst of differences in the level of supervision in various regions, which are still obstacles.
