Sri Lanka's Badai Terjang Kills 12 People, 335,000 Others Refuge

JAKARTA - The SAR team found the bodies of six children who drowned as a result of a storm in Sri Lanka causing floods and strong winds.

Thus, as of Friday, November 29, the death toll from the disaster was 12 people.

Citing AFP, the Colombo Disaster Management Center (DMC) said the storm also caused more than 335,000 people in Sri Lanka to flee after their homes were flooded.

The SAR team also continues to search for missing victims, namely two men driving tractors and a trailer carrying six children in eastern Amara District.

Indian weather officials predict "weather depression" in southwestern Bengal Bay could develop into cyclone storms.

Currently strong storms from Sri Lanka are moving slowly towards India.
