The Case Of The Shooting Police Of Semarang Vocational School Students, Komnas HAM Is Still Being Investigated In The Field
JAKARTA - The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) dispatched a team to investigate the police case suspected of shooting a student at SMK Negeri 4 Semarang, Central Java (Central Java).
"Komnas HAM has deployed a Monitoring and Investigation Working Team in Semarang since Thursday (28/11)," said Komnas HAM Commissioner for Monitoring and Investigation, Uli Parulian Sihombing when contacted, Friday, November 29, as reported by Antara.
Uli was reluctant to reveal the progress of the investigation being carried out by Komnas HAM. However, he confirmed that the results of the investigation would be disclosed to the public.
"Komnas HAM is still in the field. We will inform you later," he said.
The Coordinator of the Sub-Commission for the Advancement of Human Rights, Komnas HAM, Anis Hidayah also conveyed the same thing. According to Anis, the case is currently being monitored and investigated by Komnas HAM.
"We have not been able to convey (the results of the investigation)," said Anis when contacted separately.
Previously, Komnas HAM had conveyed an attitude related to this case. In a written statement received in Jakarta, Wednesday, November 27, Komnas HAM Chairman Atnike Nova Sigiro regretted and expressed his deep condolences for the shooting.
Komnas HAM asked the police to enforce the law fairly and transparently, and provide protection for witnesses and victims. On the other hand, Komnas HAM also requested that the handling of brawls be carried out humanely.
"We regret the shooting and express our deep condolences. We ask the police to enforce the law on this incident fairly and transparently. We ask for the protection of witnesses and victims. Ensuring the handling of brawls is carried out humanely," said Atnike.

The police suspect that the victim was the perpetrator of an inter-gangster brawl that occurred around the Simongan area, West Semarang, Sunday, November 24 in the morning. The police who tried to break up the inter-gangster brawl were said to have been forced to defend themselves by firing firearms.
On the other hand, the Head of the Central Java Education and Culture Office, Uswatun Hasanah, said that students of SMK Negeri 4 Semarang who were suspected of being victims of police shootings were registered as students who were active in schools.
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Kombes Pol Artanto in Semarang, Wednesday, November 27, said that the police officer with the initials R who shot the victim was policed for violating Article 338 of the Criminal Code regarding murder and Article 351 of the Criminal Code regarding persecution. The police officer has been detained for investigation.
