Jebol Embankment At Cikutra Bandung TPU Will Be Permanently Improved

JABAR - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) repaired the retaining embankment on the lips of the Cikutra Public Cemetery (TPU) which was broken due to heavy rains on Wednesday, November 27.

Acting (Pj) Mayor of Bandung A Koswara revealed that the repair is currently underway with the installation of temporary detentions before the construction of a permanent embankment.

"With this improvement, we hope that the Cikutra TPU area can return to being safe and comfortable for the community, especially families who have graves here," said Koswara in Bandung, Friday, November 29, which was confiscated by Antara.

Koswara said the Department of Human Settlements, Infrastructure and Spatial Planning (Disciptabintar) was relocating 20 graves affected by the incident.

The previous landslide had an impact on 20 graves. A total of 19 bodies have been relocated," he said.

He ensured that the relocation was carried out with full caution and respect for human values.

He revealed that his party had communicated with the heirs of the affected bodies. Several heirs also asked that their families' bodies be moved to other locations, such as Cimahi, Jakarta, or Blok F TPU Cikutra.

"Families from the affected graves have witnessed the transfer process," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bandung City Cipta Karya, Infrastructure and Spatial Planning Agency (Disciptabintar) Bambang Suhari is targeting the process of relocating all the bodies from the affected graves to be completed today.

"I want it to be finished today, hopefully it won't rain. And you can see the funeral process in block E3 above," he said.

Furthermore, he ensured that his party would continue to monitor the situation, especially if heavy rains occurred again.

Bambang asked the heirs of the affected graves to understand the emergency steps taken by the government.

We ask for understanding from the heirs. This transfer was carried out to maintain the safety of the bodies. The bureaucratic mechanism takes time, so we immediately act to avoid more severe damage," he said.
