Visited By Japanese Entrepreneurs, Yusril Orders Ministry Of Imipas To Complete Immigration Obstacles

Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration and Corrections (Kumham Imipas) Yusril Ihza Mahendra ordered the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections (Imipas) to immediately resolve immigration barriers related to foreign investment.

This response is a serious response to complaints from Japanese businessmen regarding immigration services in the country that met Yusril at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Rights Imipas Office in Jakarta, Friday, November 29.

"After hearing various complaints from Japanese businessmen who are members of The Jakarta Japan Club, we immediately coordinated with the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections, as well as the Ministry of Manpower to overcome it," said Yusril when confirmed, confiscated by Antara.

The entrepreneurs came from several Islamic businessmen and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) organizations in Indonesia.

He explained that during the meeting the Japanese businessmen complained that Immigration officers were often visiting in various locations.

These officers often ask for work visas and limited residence permits specifically for company directors and commissioners who do not live in Indonesia.

Legally, Yusril said that entrepreneurs are not required to have work visas and residence permits because they do not live in Indonesia.

The reason, he said, was that the businessmen from Japan controlled companies from their countries using technology and information (IT), so they only came physically to Indonesia occasionally.

"In my opinion, this is actually good because the work at the management level is actually left to Indonesian workers themselves," he said.

For this reason, he assessed that the various immigration barriers should have been resolved if all the rules were enforced because the atmosphere was calm and comfortable and had to be owned by investors and administrators of foreign companies operating in Indonesia.

On this occasion, Chairman of The Jakarta Japan Club Shinichi Kikuchihara thanked the quick response given by the Coordinating Minister for Kumham Imipas RI in response to various complaints they submitted.

The chairman of The Jakarta Japan Club was accompanied by the Japanese Embassy's Trade, Investment and Industry Attach in Jakarta Hanawa Hiroyuki.

Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister Yusril was accompanied by the Deputy for Legal Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for the Coordinating Ministry for Human Rights, Imipas Nofli, and Acting Deputy for Immigration and Correctional Coordination at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Rights, Imipas I Nyoman Gede Surya Mataram.
