Reruntuh Dan Gulf Of Meru Gelar Showcase Untuk EP Kolaborasi Mereka Di Jakarta
JAKARTA - An interesting collaboration occurred between Reruntuh, an ambient-folk soloist and Gulf of Meru, an experimental ambient musician from Jakarta. They put together creative ideas through an EP titled Jenjam.
Continuing their derivative from the release of the album, they will hold a showcase for their mini album collaboration, Jenjam, on December 6 at the Third Eye Space, Jakarta.
This show is Jenjam's second appearance, having previously been held in Bandung last September. On this occasion, Reruntuh and the Gulf of Meru collaborated with Class Pagi Indonesia, the photography community that has been established since 2006.
Jenjam is an ambient mini album released in July 2024, containing five songs: Mariday Dead, Vehicles Fajr, Jenjam, and Sampai Jua, with the latter presenting a joint hara collaboration. Departing from their pleasure in ambient music and the influence of some of their favorite ambient artists: Rachika Nayar, Hammock, Florist, Jonsi, Reruntuh and Gulf of Meru decided to experiment together.
Sensing is a song about thoughts that are constantly chaotic, and about fatigue in the fast and versatile rhythm of life in Jakarta. The Dead Sun is about giving up thoughts and looking for distant calm and difficult to reach.

Then, the Subuh Train, about a new beginning that is in a hurry but calming, like a train that starts to drive slowly in the morning, towards distant peace. The fourth song, Jenjam, is about silence and singing. Finally, until Jua, collaboration with the nutrients, is about reaching the peace that is always sought.
Jenjam's showcase is about singing in the midst of urban frenzy. Through this show, Reruntuh and Gulf of Meru wanted to invite listeners for a moment to escape the noise of the city life and enjoy an hour and a half full of calm, sinking into immersive and atmospheric sounds. More than that, Jenjam's showcase is also a Reruntuh and Gulf of Meru's experiment in delivering live ambient music, which for them is a challenge.
The Jenjam Showcase will be held at the Third Eye Space, Jalan Nangka I No. 6, North Cipete, South Jakarta, at 7 pm.
