Call The New Culture 'Jokowism', PDIP: Rulers With Every Way To Result In Elections According To Their Wishes
JAKARTA - Chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) DPP Deddy Sitorus revealed that currently there is a new cultural term that develops in the general election system or elections in Indonesia. PDIP calls it a 'Jokowism' culture.
Deddy said that the term Jokowisme was an effort from the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, since he was still the President until he was no longer in office, to design general elections and regional head elections according to his interests.
Jokowi, according to PDIP, has wanted various acts of democratic violations that are structured, systematic, and massive. This was stated by Deddy in a press conference at the PDIP DPP Office, Menteng, Central Jakarta.
"Starting when a ruler named Jokowi at all costs, with all his power, makes efforts to produce elections according to his wishes. Is the target, the target of this activity is the entire population of voters? Of course not. But it is designed for an adequate percentage so that their agenda is achieved," said Deddy, Thursday, November 28.
In Jokoowism culture, Deddy said that Jokowi mobilized the police apparatus's instruments to be able to run the dark side of democracy, ranging from intimidation to society, to money politics.
*What is the instrument used with Jokowism-style election politics? Of course something very big, strong network, has the ability to raise funds, raise certain groups that have become public knowledge. Now we know 'Brown Party'," explained Deddy.

Furthermore, Deddy emphasized, "Brown Party" as Jokowi's political instrument does not cover all of the police and only elements. However, he emphasized that this movement was already a command line.
"I think the key holder is (Kapolri) Listyo Sigit. He is responsible for the institutions he controls, which he leads. Which turns out to be part of our democratic damage. This is a responsibility that I think must be burdened with throughout history," explained Deddy.
He emphasized that the separation of the police and the TNI from the Armed Forces of the Republic of Indonesia (ABRI) by the 5th President Megawati Soekarnoputri was actually carried out to keep the Police away from intervention. However, at this time they are considered to often abuse their wewennang.
"It turns out that from what happened, from the reports we received, from the understanding of many people, even including in the DPR building, the police are a problem for our democracy. This is actually an opportunity to reflect on all the shadow of the country in the police institution," he explained.
Thus, PDIP encourages an in-depth evaluation of the police institution, reflecting on cases of abuse of power that have occurred so far.
