19 Years Of Career, DRIVE Continues To Adapt To The Age And Taste Of Listeners
JAKARTA - DRIVE has just celebrated their 19th anniversary of their musical journey. The moment was celebrated through a single titled Dilemmatics.
Mle passed 19 years with its dynamics, DRIVE proved itself able to survive. Kenyang stepped on the sharp pebbles, they continued to walk, while bearing the responsibility to maintain the band's integrity and keep it relevant to all trend changes.
"There have been many changes in the era, and the challenges are when we have to adjust to the tastes of listeners at this time. It is impossible for Budi and I as the longest personnel to force our wishes," Dygo said in a press statement received by VOI, November 26.
Throughout 19 years of DRIVE's career, they were among the bands hit by the issue of dismantling personnel. However, they can prove that continuing to work is the main thing, even though vocalists have changed many times.
We are still making works, still making albums. We have released six albums, and will be releasing the seventh album, for 19 years. There is a sense of pride of course, being able to survive in all conditions. There is also a great sense of responsibility to keep Drive there and can be bigger than ever. That's what keeps us going, "explained Dygo convincingly.
In line with Dygo, according to Budi, the real challenge of DRIVE is not the number of new bands that have emerged. But more about how to maintain productivity. Band, if you are lazy to produce recordings, make content, music videos or concerts, it's better to just disband!
Therefore, with the joining of vocalist Axl in the last two years, DRIVE has received a lot of fresh air. They actually consider the age that is far apart from old DRIVE personnel as an advantage.

"Axl can give thoughts that we may not have thought of, because it comes from different eras. That's a good thing," Dygo said.
Budi likens DRIVEs to sediment rocks, which in the last five years have little by little started to coat previous eras. Towards 20 years, the band feels even more 'young'.
"Not only because of the vocalist, but also his passion and musical style," he said.
For Axl, two years with DRIVE hasn't given him much experience. But he saw that the band's movement was very good. He also really hopes that, towards 20 years, several things that are targeted can be fulfilled.
"Hopefully it can be better known for the latest formation. Hopefully next year's 20th anniversary can hold a massive single concert, with massive enthusiasts or spectators too," he exclaimed.
Then, Rudy added, he hopes that by the age of two decades, DRIVE will remain compact, with the spirit of work that continues to robble. Hopefully in 2025, there must be something spectacular from Drive, because it will be even 20 years of work. Hopefully there will be no obstacles and launched by Allah SWT. Amen!
The album 'One 7' alone will contain seven songs. Five of them are new works, plus two old recycled songs, namely 'Akulah Dia' and 'leaving You'.
