Biden Called, Lebanese PM Welcomes Israel-Hezbollah's Ceasefire
JAKARTA - Lebanese interim Prime Minister Najib Mikati welcomed the Israeli ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah in telephone talks with US President Joe Biden.
"I received a call from US President Joe Biden, where we consulted about the current situation. I would like to thank the US support for Lebanon and the efforts made by its envoy, Tuan (Amos) Hochstein," Mikati said in a post on X reported by CNN, Wednesday, November 27.
Mikati thanked the US and France for their efforts to reach the ceasefire agreement. He called the agreement a fundamental step towards creating calm and stability in Lebanon as well as helping build regional stability.

Lebanese PM reaffirmed its government's commitment to strengthening the presence of troops in the south, carrying out UN resolution 1701, and working closely with UN peacekeeping forces in Lebanon.
The UN resolution that ended the 2006 Lebanese-Israeli war, designated the only armed group in the southern region of the Lebanese Litani River as Lebanese soldiers and UN peacekeeping forces.
Mikati called on Israel to fully adhere to the ceasefire agreement and withdraw from all its occupied territory, in accordance with UN resolutions.
