The Sampang Police mobilized the East Java Regional Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) to arrest a sharp-armed man of the type of sickle in the middle of an argument over the distribution of invitations to vote for the 2024 Sampang Regional Election, and challenge carok.
"Until tonight the Brimob team continues to search, but the perpetrator has not been found," said Sampang Police Chief Hendro Sukmono as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 26.
Previously, a commotion occurred in Gunung Rancak Village, Robatal District, Sampang Regency. The commotion circulated in the form of videos on a number of social media platforms.
In the video circulating, a man looks emotional and brandishes a sharp sickle in the middle of an argument that occurs in front of the house, because no family member has not received an invitation to vote for the Pilkada on November 27, 2024.
The man then pointed at a sharp sickle-type weapon and conveyed words that took him away. The action of the man in a brown shirt stopped after his friends intervened and asked him to refrain.
According to the Police Chief, the man who was carrying a sharp weapon and challenging the Carok had the initials S.
Based on the results of the intelligence officer's investigation, the person concerned did carry a sharp weapon, in accordance with the video picture circulating.
"Therefore, we instruct members, including the Brimob team of the East Java Police to arrest the man," he said.

The perpetrators are threatened with criminal penalties in the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 Article 2 paragraph (1) which states that the carriers of park weapons can face a maximum prison sentence of 10 years.
"We do not hesitate to act decisively in order to keep the situation conducive, especially since the perpetrators carry sharp weapons consciously," he said.
