Metro Police Chief Calls The Regional Head Election Situation Conducive, Only Receiving 7 Violation Reports
JAKARTA - Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto assessed that the implementation of a series of Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) in the jurisdiction of the Polda Metro Jaya was still conducive. Although, there were several demonstrations.
In the jurisdiction of Polda Metro Jaya, it is known that three elections will take place for governors, four mayors, and three regents, which include the areas of Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang, and South Tangerang.
"So far, Alhamdulillah, the situation in general is very conducive," Karyoto told reporters after leading the Joint TNI-Polri Apple at Monas, Monday, November 25.
According to him, based on data from the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) there are only seven reports related to alleged violations.
However, it was not conveyed in detail about the form of the reported violation. It is only mentioned that the demonstration which became one of the prominent actions during the Jakarta Pilkada series.
"DKI legal area, there are 7 reported cases, yesterday maybe colleagues understand, there have been several demonstrations about one of the candidate pairs being deemed to have violated a regulation," he said.
On this basis, Karyoto stated that there are no things that can be categorized as disturbances. Thus, in general, the current conditions are considered conducive.
"So far, Gakkumdu has not received much reports, less than 10. This is quite good," he said.
Not to forget, Karyoto appealed to all parties involved in the Pilkada to respect each other. So, there is no division just because of different choices.
