KPK Reminds People To Choose Quality Candidates Not Who Distribute Envelopes
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) warned of the dangers of money political practices ahead of the 2024 Pilkada voting. People should not be tempted by couples who distribute envelopes to get votes.
"If they choose only based on... the presence of envelopes or giving money is practical politics there, people will feel (the impact, ed) for five years," said KPK Spokesperson Tessa Mahardika to reporters quoted on Monday, November 25.
The KPK hopes that the public can choose the best candidate and have quality. So, when this figure is appointed, he does not try to make profits in order to replace his expenses during his candidacy.
"So please people who will vote on November 27 really consider choosing a regional head who really works for his area," said Tessa.
"Those who really have quality in work and do not only work solely to later return the capital that has been spent during the campaign period," continued the spokesman with the background.
Furthermore, Tessa said the anti-corruption commission had made efforts to prevent money politics during the 2024 Pilkada. One of them, by carrying out the campaign to beat Fajar Serangan.
"This is done solely to provide an illustration to the people in whose place is in the process of selecting regional heads to choose the best regional head," he said.
