Officially With Orange Vest, Rohidin Mersyah Remains Sure Of Winning Bengkulu Gubernatorial Election

JAKARTA - Bengkulu Governor Rohidin Mersyah reminded his supporters to remain conducive. He even still believes he can win the 2024 Pilkada with his deputy candidate, Meriani.

This was conveyed by him after the official orange Vest of KPK detainees after being caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT). Rohidin initially reminded the people in Bengkulu to remain calm in responding to the case that ensnared him.

"I ask the people of Bengkulu to be calm. Keep conducive, don't take unwanted actions, let alone be anarchic," Rohidin told reporters at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday morning, November 25.

"Make sure the regional elections will continue to run well, use the voting rights well," he continued.

Furthermore, Rohidin ensured that he would cooperate in following the legal process at the anti-corruption commission. He said he was ready to take responsibility for his actions.

"Regarding my legal process as a candidate for governor, it will run according to the rules. I will also be responsible for this legal process and very cooperatively with the KPK," he said.

He also conveyed a message for Meriani to continue to fight as a candidate for deputy governor. "Romer (Rohidin-Meriani) God willing, we will win. Because our strength is getting stronger and more solid," said Rohidin before being taken into the detention car.

Previously reported, the KPK held a hand arrest operation (OTT) in Bengkulu Province on Saturday, November 23 and brought eight people for questioning. Three people were later named as suspects, namely Bengkulu Governor Rohidin Mersyah, Bengkulu Provincial Secretary (Sekda) Isnan Fajri and Evrianshah alias Anca who is the Adc Governor of Bengkulu.

When the OTT was carried out, investigators found IDR 7 billion in rupiah currency denominations, US dollars, and Singapore dollars. Furthermore, the suspects will be detained for the next 20 days and will be extended according to the rules and needs of investigators.

The three suspects are suspected of violating Article 12 letter e and Article 12B in Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended in Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code.
