OTT In Bengkulu, KPK Suspects Related To Funding For Regional Head Elections
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confiscated a sum of money along with a hand arrest operation (OTT) in Bengkulu. The KPK suspects the money is related to funding in the 2024 Pilkada.
The KPK confirmed that it had carried out a hand arrest operation (OTT) on seven people in Bengkulu on Saturday, November 23 night.
"Pungutan ke pegawai untuk pendanaan pilkada sepertinya," kata Wakil Ketua KPK Alexander Marwata kepada wartawan Minggu, 24 November.
Alex has not been able to explain the value of the money that was also confiscated. Currently, the party being dragged by OTT is being taken to the KPK's Red and White Building for inspection.
"It's clearer that this afternoon it will be explained," said Alex.
Previously, the KPK investigating team was reportedly carrying out an investigation in Bengkulu. This was confirmed by the Bengkulu Police Chief, Kombes Pol. Deddy Nata, who mentioned that there was an examination by the KPK at the Bengkulu Police Headquarters.
"Yes, that's right, the KPK, we just have to wait for the activity for a while. For the number, I don't know, we'll just have to wait. Because those who carry out activities are not the Bengkulu Police, and I don't know anything about their activities, please be patient while waiting for further developments," said Kombes Pol. Deddy in Bengkulu City, Saturday, November 23.
The police chief said that his party was only securing activities. Regarding the content of the activity, his party did not know.
One of the parties questioned by the KPK was the Bengkulu Governor Candidate (petahana) Rohidin Mersyah.
Rohidin arrived at the Bengkulu Police Headquarters at around 22.50 WIB with three cars used by the KPK. Kombes Pol. Deddy Nata confirmed that Rohidin was the last person to arrive at the Bengkulu Police Headquarters brought by the KPK.
"Yes, it is true that Rohidin entered. We are waiting for further developments from the KPK," he said.
