RI Immediately Realized Investment 8.5 Billion US Dollars From The UK After Prabowo's Visit

JAKARTA - The Indonesian government will soon realize investment commitments from 10 British companies worth US$8.5 billion which is one of the results obtained from President Prabowo's state visit.

Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani stated that he would immediately facilitate the interests that have been conveyed by investors, as well as oversee if there are obstacles faced in implementing in the field.

"We will continue the implementation quickly. Some of the obstacles that we have to solve, we are talking openly. At the Ministry of Investment/BKPM, he (the president) said are the spearhead towards Indonesia's growth of 8 percent," said Minister Rosan as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, November 22.

As an effort to immediately realize this commitment, Rosan will meet with several companies that have expressed their commitment to invest in Indonesia.

"Tomorrow I will continue meeting with eight companies that met today, including BP and Swire," he said.

He said the reason behind the enthusiasm of investors to invest in Indonesia was due to stable national political conditions.

"They also appreciate the peaceful transition of government. This is what increases the trust of investors," said Rosan.

Previously, Rosan Roeslani invited British investors to take advantage of various economic opportunities from investment in Indonesia, especially in the renewable energy sector (EBT), green technology, and carbon capture.

This was conveyed by Minister Rosan when opening exchange trading and attending the Indonesia-UK Climate and Green Finance meeting at the London Stock Exchange, England, on Thursday (21/11) local time.

In utilizing EBT, his party encourages investors to take advantage of geothermal reserves in Indonesia to reduce dependence on fossil fuel-based energy.
