Dynasty Politics In Banten Steps Back In Development
JAKARTA - Young Banten activist Achmad Fanani Rasyidi assessed that dynastic politics in Banten should not happen again.
According to him, dynastic politics is an area step back in carrying out development.
This is as felt by the man who is familiarly called Awe when he was still active as a student activist and movement in South Tangerang.
Many civil society movements find it difficult to control development to the government because they must be faced with other fellow civil society who tend to be only pro to the government.
"I saw that at that time the pressure in Banten when I was still active in student activists, Banten was the most frightening scourge for champions," said Fanani.
Other narcotics Directors of Indonesian Political House Fernando Gold and Founder Nusa Ina Connection Abdullah Kelrey were also present.
Even when he and other NGO people provide assistance to civilians who are dealing with local governments, they will be faced with thugs and champions who have been in coalition with the government which is merely to care for their power.
From these assistance efforts, they are often faced with other organizations that carry out obstacles and cons.
In fact, he stated, there are allegations of waste disposal practices by a factory to certain mass organizations to be dumped in random places.
"When asked about Banten, I get goosebumps. Because I remember accompanying my fellow civil society organizations there, they were scared because they were afraid of being visited by champions," he said.
Such a bad situation, Awe even said, has become a common secret.
Worse, the bad situation was finally considered normal by the community because of his reluctance to fight power.
"Finally, the things that should be (assessed) evil are considered common by the people in Banten," he continued.
Di tambah lagi sosial and economic inequality di Banten saat era pemerintahan dynastic politik keluarga Atut saat itu.
Awe admitted that it was very sad, how to compare between regions with one another in one province, it had a very large gap.
"Arriving in the Lebak area, we can still find the children's communities who are still blind. I have goosebumps talking about it," he said.
According to Awe, this inequality can be explained by how political development in Banten is carried out on a family basis. How Banten Province is controlled by a family that eventually dominates in various regencies and cities there.
"With politics in the political dynasty in Banten, it has had a very bad impact, especially building a movement organization union in Banten, which is quite difficult. In fact, the most we find there is a civil society movement that supports local governments rather than criticizes," he explained.
Therefore, he hopes that youth and activists in Banten will start to participate in widespread political awareness, so that other civil society can actively carry out improvements and developments in their area.
"I want young people in Banten to be active in building inclusive democracy, because Banten is still very far away (political awareness and regional development -red)," said Awe.
According to him, this effort could be an effective step so that Banten does not return to a long period which is considered to have many bad records.
"If during Atut's time there was dynastic politics, this is a jahiliah political culture, which has a lot of harm. With the collapse of Atut when he was arrested, it started to sag down, it has started to lead to an oligarchic form, has not yet reached an inclusive democracy. But the important thing is not to return to the politics of jahiliyah, let's not fight again with champions because we just want to demonstrate in front of the government office in Banten," said Awe.
"Don't let civilians only carry out their activities to support the Banten government. Because there are many cases of environmental crises such as pollution from these factory wastes (so far there is dynastic politics in Banten)," he continued.
Dalam momentum Pilkada 2024, baik Pilgub dan Pilwakot/Pilbup di Banten, ia berharap masyarakat sadar dan jangan memilih calon yang berasal dari slice politik dynastic sebelumnya.
"Don't let us return to the era of Banten's jahiliah. Don't choose pro candidates in political dynasties, especially previous political dynasties," he said.
Meanwhile, the Founder of Nusa Ina Connection Abdullah Kelrey further encouraged the Banten community to report the Airin-Ade candidate for alleged campaign violations at places of education and places of worship to be followed up by Bawaslu.
"Bawaslu, it's time to get good attention, don't let Bawaslu just be paid by the state, the people have salaries but they don't work," said Kelrey.
He said that the momentum of this reporting was being pursued to be followed up and it must be encouraged by all Banten people who care about democracy.
"Let's encourage Bawaslu to immediately take a stand and complete the report," he continued.
Kelrey continued the Banten political dynasty with KKN (Corruption on Collusion and Nepotism), and was like a brother.
"KKN is indeed not allowed to live and develop. Never mind life, let alone develop, there should be no roots in the country that we are proud of. We are talking about democracy, but on the one hand we support political dynasties. Never mind it's a legacy of the Dutch era, a legacy of the colonial era. We should no longer live in this democratic era," he said again.
He also advised the people of Banten that political dynasties with a background of corruption, collusion and nepotism should not escape.
"So this is the momentum, let's be aware let's take advantage of this momentum to rise from political dynasties and rise from corruption in collusion and nepotism in Banten," he concluded.

The Executive Director of Indonesian Political House, Fernando Emas, said that the maturity of democracy in Banten must be supported by the firmness of the legal apparatus.
"I really hope Bawaslu, the police who are there who are members of Gakkumdu follow up on the report, whether it is part of an election crime and what are the sanctions, what are the light weight, so please decide. If there is a criminal sanction, decide, if there is a fine, then set the fine," Fernando said on the same occasion.
He said, people should not let the public be reluctant to report any more alleged criminal violations because law enforcement officials do not respond or even fail to resolve their cases fairly and transparently.
"If no sanctions are given by the election organizers, the other contestants finally want to make the same thing, in the end there will be no deterrent effect. I hope the public will continue to monitor it, don't give up when the report has not been followed up," he concluded.
