PT Timah Pastikan Bakal Garap Tambang Eks Koba Tin
PT Timah Tbk (TINS) has confirmed that it will carry out mining activities in the Special Mining Business Permit (WIUP) area of former PT Koba Tin.
TINS President Director, Ahmad Dani Virsal, said that his party had applied for an administrative permit from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).
"If the IUP is a former work contract (KK) of Koba Tin, we are still applying for administrative permits. So there are several blocks that we have submitted to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources," he told the media crew in Jakarta, Friday, November 22.
Ahmad Dani said that his party would soon obtain a permit to manage the former Koba Tin dlam land in the near future.
"The latest update is probably in the near future an exploration IUP will be issued," added Virsal.
Regarding the amount of potential carried out by the land, he admitted that he did not know for sure the amount of potential he still had. The plan will only conduct an evaluation after obtaining an exploration permit from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
"That's what we will evaluate later, if it is still potential, we ask the government so that we manage it," he continued.
Meanwhile, met separately, Director General of Mineral and Coal Tri Winarno said that exploration permits for PT Timah will certainly be issued next week.

"As far as I know, I'm in the process. I've got a little more. Maybe it's at the latest next week," Tri said when met at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Friday, November 22.
Tri said that the former Koba Tin land whose permit was applied for by PT tin is the Merbuk-Kenari Block and still has potential.
"The grade of lead is the same as nickel, 1.5 percent being disposed of, now it's still selling up to 0.9 percent the same as lead, the rest of mining products," said Tri.
