Tuchel Hires Chelsea Coaching Staff For The England National Team
JAKARTA - Thomas Tuchel will add Chelsea goalkeeping coach Hilario to his coaching staff when he starts working as England's national team manager on January 1, 2025.
ESPN reported on October 18, 2024 that Tuchel was eyeing Hilario. The 49-year-old coach has resigned from his post at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea declined to comment when contacted by ESPN, but Hilario has ended his 18-year relationship with the Blues to take on a position as Tuchel staff.
Tuchel has appointed Anthony Barry as his assistant after previously working with Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
Meanwhile, James Melbourne left his job as head of performance analysis for the Blues to work with Tuchel again in the England national team.

Hilario joined Chelsea as a player in 2006 and made 39 appearances before joining the coaching team.
He worked with Tuchel at the Blues for 2021-2022 and presented the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and Club World Cup titles.
Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca is likely to provide up-to-date information about the situation in the near future.
However, it is impossible for him to find a replacement considering they already have another goalkeeper coach, Michele De Bernardin, in addition to assistant coach and former goalkeeper Willy Caballero.
The FA also declined to comment when contacted by ESPN. However, they reported that talks would be held to add black and ethnic minorities (BAME) coaches to the England coaching staff.
Together with the Professional Footballers Association, the FA launched the Elite Coach Placement Program in 2018 to improve BAME representation in all English teams.
As a result, the England men's team has hired Chris Powell, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, and Ashley Cole.
Ashley Cole will return with Lee Carsley to head England U-21 when Tuchel starts working.
