JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) involves more than 5,900 Offices for Religious Affairs (KUA) in Indonesia in an effort to eradicate online or online gambling in Indonesia.

"The Ministry of Religion's strength is involved in preventing and eliminating online gambling. We involve 5,940 KUA offices," said Indonesian Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar in Jakarta, Thursday, November 21, as quoted by Antara.

Minister of Religion Nasaruddin stated that his party is also committed to assisting the government in eradicating online gambling by involving more than 50,000 religious instructors throughout Indonesia.

In the near future, he said, the Ministry of Religion will also provide a special sermon theme related to the dangers of online gambling to be read out in various places of worship in Indonesia.

"We have as many as 800 thousand mosques in Indonesia, then added mushalla, violating, surau, meunasah up to one million, coupled with other religious houses. Everything is done in order to protect (the community from) online gambling," he said.

Nasaruddin is optimistic that this can help increase people's moral and spiritual awareness to be able to better understand online gambling and the dangers it can cause.

He also stated that his party would invite the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) to provide affirmation regarding the haram fatwa that exists in online gambling to the public.

"Maybe in other countries it doesn't matter, but in Indonesia (online gambling) violates the law," he said.

Therefore, to facilitate the eradication of online gambling, Minister of Religion Nasaruddin invited the entire community to be able to prevent their families from contamination of the dangers of online gambling, because they not only make them poor in the world, but also in the hereafter.
