Kolaborasi AMPHURI dan KPK, Cegah Praktik Korupsi di Sektor Haji dan Umrah

JAKARTA In an effort to prevent corrupt practices in the sector of organizing Hajj and Umrah, the Muslim Association of Hajj and Umrah Organizers of the Republic of Indonesia (AMPHURI) collaborates with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to provide technical guidance on community participation. This activity aims to create special Hajj and Umrah business actors with integrity.

Chairman of the AMPHURI Central Board of Executives, Firman M Nur, revealed that the Hajj and Umrah business sectors are vulnerable to corrupt practices because of their complexity and involvement of various parties, including government agencies. If corrupt practices occur, it not only threatens the interests of the people, but also tarnishes the value of the pilgrimage and Umrah.

Therefore, AMPHURI held anti-corruption training for special Hajj and Umrah business actors. This step aims to realize AMPHURI with integrity in organizing the pilgrimage and Umrah," said Firman when opening the Community Participation Technical Guidance event with the KPK in Jakarta, Wednesday, November 20.

Overcoming Corruption Insecurity In The Hajj And Umrah Sector

Firman emphasized the importance of implementing good governance principles and good corporate governance in preventing corruption. Collaboration with the KPK provides an opportunity for AMPHURI to gain a more in-depth understanding of the corruption eradication strategy.

The potential for corruption in this sector is very likely, especially with the strict business competition. We don't want business actors who organize special Hajj and Umrah to be caught in a criminal act of corruption due to ignorance or other reasons," said Firman.

This activity presents speakers from the KPK, namely Brigadier General Pol Kumbul Kusdwidjanto Sudjadi (Director of Community Participation Development of the KPK) and Rommy Iman Sulaiman (Expert Analyst for Eradication of Corruption Crimes KPK).

Sustainable Collaboration For Corruption-Free Indonesia

Firman explained that through this educative and collaborative activity, AMPHURI invited business actors and the community to play an active role in efforts to eradicate corruption.

"This is AMPHURI's concrete action in realizing business actors with integrity. We hope that this activity will be the first step to create a corruption-free Hajj and Umrah business sector," added Firman.

This technical guidance is also part of a series of activities leading to the commemoration of World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) on December 9, 2024. The commemoration aims to increase public awareness about the dangers of corruption and the importance of joint role in eradicating it, including among Hajj and Umrah business actors, including AMPHURI.
