Prospective KPK Council Mirwazi Calls Sectoral Egos Causes Disruption In Anti-corruption Institutions
JAKARTA - The candidate for the Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Mirwazi, mentioned the issue of sectoral egos while undergoing a fit and proper test at Commission III of the DPR. He considered that sectoral ego factors were the cause of confusion between the KPK leadership and the KPK Council for the 2019-2024 period.
"Why is there a miss communication between the council and the KPK? Yesterday there may have been a lot of sectoral egos, sir," said Mirwazi in the House of Representatives Commission III room, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 20.
"Dewas felt he had to supervise the investigation, while the KPK leadership felt he was the greatest, I was the best, I was the leader, I held the budget," he continued.
Mirwazi said that the chaos that occurred in anti-corruption institutions in the past period would be a lesson from the KPK Council.
"What happened in the previous council, maybe this is a lesson for those of us who may be elected as the next adult," he said.

In the future, continued Mirwazi, the KPK Council will sit with the KPK leadership to make joint rules. This is done so that the KPK can again gain public trust in the country.
"This is what we will form in the future, sit together to make joint rules to maintain a wiser KPK in handling corruption cases that are expected by the community, that the KPK can handle better and wiser corruption," he concluded.
