Prabowo Asks Airplane Ticket Prices To Drop, Garuda President Director: We Count Carefully
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto asked his staff so that the ticket price for domestic aircraft could fall before the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year or Nataru holidays.
Responding to this, Garuda Indonesia President Director, Wamildan Tsani, said that discussions on plans to reduce aircraft ticket prices were still being carried out both internally at Garudan Indonesia and with the Ministry of SOEs as shareholders.
Saat ini, Wamildan bilang perseroan masih mencari skema yang tepat untuk menurunkan harga tiket pesawat. Scheme ini harus perhatikan dengan cermat agar tidak merugikan perusahaan, tetapi juga bisa membuat masyarakat.
"Of course we will arrange it, we will calculate it carefully," he told reporters when met at the BUMN Ministry Office, Jakarta, written Wednesday, November 20.
The Military Commander emphasized that Garuda Indonesia in principle supports lower ticket prices. Moreover, it was an order from President Prabowo Subianto.
Furthermore, he said if there were no problems, the plane ticket price could be lowered during the Nataru period.
"We come with action, we will support the president's order to lower ticket prices, if the scheme is later delivered. Later in the Nataru period. We will convey the details later," said the Military Commander.
Regarding efforts to reduce ticket prices, the Military Commander said the company would also cooperate with relevant stakeholders. Especially with the government to reduce the levy components that are used for passengers.
"If that's the case, there are several relevant stakeholders that will be collaborated, we cannot do it ourselves. There are other parties as well, adjustments too," he said.
