Prabowo Attends The Launch Of Global Handling Against Starvation At The G20 Summit
JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto attended the launch of the Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty initiative in the series of the G20 Summit which took place at the Museum of Modern Art (MAM), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Monday, November 18 local time.
The launch was led by Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who called for a global action to tackle hunger and poverty which is still an urgent challenge to the world.

In his introductory speech, President Lula da Silva highlighted the social inequality in the world, where 733 million people are still malnourished in 2024, although the world produces nearly 6 billion tons of food per year.
"Worship is a biological expression of social illness," said Lula, citing Brazilian scientist Josue de Castro.
President Lula also said that the alliance aims to build international recommendations, effective public policies, and sustainable funding sources.
Currently, the alliance has received support from 81 countries, 26 international organizations, 9 financial institutions, as well as various non-governmental foundations and organizations.
"This alliance was born in the G20, but the goal is global," said President Lula da Silva.
