Timah Corruption Case, AGO Arrests Hendry Lie
The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has officially arrested and detained Hendry Lie, who is one of the suspects in the corruption case in the management of tin commodity trading in the mining business permit (IUP) area of PT Timah in 2015 '2022.
Hendry Lie is known to have fled abroad after being examined as a witness on February 29, 2024.
"The Directorate of Investigation at Jampidsus with intelligence services at Jamintel, as well as the Attorney General's Attache of the Republic of Indonesia in Singapore has arrested the suspect Hendry Lie," said the Director of Investigation at the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the AGO, Abdul Qohar, Monday, November 18, evening.
Hendry Lie's arrest was made at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Terminal 2F, on November 18, evening.
At that time, Hendry was said to have just arrived in Indonesia from Singapore. The team of investigators who knew of his whereabouts immediately made an arrest.
"(Arrest) At the time the person concerned arrived from Singapore at Terminal 2F," he said.
After being arrested, investigators will examine Hendry Lie as a suspect. Then, the founder of Sriwijaya Air will also be detained for the next 20 days.
"Detention for the next 20 days at the Salemba Rutan at the District Attorney's Office, South Jakarta," said Qohar.
