The Ministry of Human Rights Will Build 3 Maximum Security Prisons On Nusakambangan

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights will build 3 new prisons for terrorist convicts on Nusakambangan, Central Java.

Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly said that the plan follows the number of police detainees related to terrorism today. The goal is not to overcapacity.

"We get complaints from the Police, The High Prosecutor, because it is still a bit crowded. If it's terrorists only, I think the police still have a special place for it. And this year we built three prisons on Nusakambangan. One maximum security prison that I think is enough for that", said Human Rights Minister Yasonna Laoly, Saturday, April 10.

Yasonna believes the addition of prisons for the National Police to maintain the security of the public and the country related to terrorism. Because according to him, special prison terrorism can not be mixed with other case inmates.

"We will send it to Nusakambangan later. On Nusakambangan there are White Sand Prison, Karanganyar Prison, Batu Prison for Narcotics. There will be a maximum prison, super-maximum. And then the terrorist inmates that we see there are already coaching, we will move to a medium prison", said Human Rights Minister Yasonna.
