Golkar's Electability Has The Potential To Drop In The Bahlil Era
JAKARTA The electability of the Golkar Party has the potential to decline under the leadership of Bahlil Lahadalia. Conflict between factions and a number of controversial figures in the ranks of the DPP management is considered to trigger the electoral decline.
The Golkar Party is known as a diverse and dynamic cadre party. No wonder many factions actually have an interest when there is a change in the management of the Golkar Party. This includes changes in management in the era of Ketum Bahlil, "said Director of Research Trust Indonesia, Ahmad Fadhli, Sunday, November 17, 2024.
In addition to the internal factions, the appointment of several names that are considered controversial to occupy important positions in the structural management also has an impact on the party's electoralities. Fadhli said that the selection of Yahya Zaini, who had stumbled on a porn video scandal with the dancer Maria Eva in 2006 as Chair of the DPP for Organization and Idrus Marham, who had been imprisoned for corruption as Deputy General Chair, could influence the party's future image and electability.
"Of course it will affect the party's electoral. The first perception of voters or the public over a political party will certainly be greatly determined by the image attached to the management," he added.

Fadhli said it would be better if Bahlil Lahadalia reconsidered the names sitting in his management structure. This is because Bahlil must anticipate the emergence of public opinion that the Golkar Party does not have good and progressive cadres other than figures that trigger controversy in the public sphere.
As is known, Bahlil Lahadalia's validity as General Chair of the Golkar Party was sued by one of his cadres, Ilhamsyah Ainul Mattimu to the Administrative Court, and the case will enter its inaugural trial on November 20.
