Questioning The Fate Of Sritex Raw Materials, Customs Boss: Curator With Authority
JAKARTA - Director General of Customs and Excise Askolani explained that the fate of the raw materials of PT Sri Rejeki Isman (Sritex) is now under the authority of the curator.
He admitted that he did not have the authority to delay the import and export of Sritex raw materials.
"About Sritex, it's the curator who has the authority. We just follow (the legal process) because we don't have the authority," said Askolani as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, November 14.
Because it became the authority of the curator, Askolani said, there was no communication between law enforcement and Customs regarding efforts to resolve the case.
"We respect the law that those who have the authority are curators. So, we follow what the curator says," he added.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) said it would monitor the availability of raw materials for PT Sritex, which previously owned by the textile company, stated that only three weeks of raw materials were available for production.
"We will monitor it," said Deputy Minister of Industry Faisol Riza when met in Jakarta, Thursday.
As stated by the Deputy Minister of Industry, his party is also still waiting for the results of the cassation previously submitted by Sritex for further action.
"Still waiting for the results of the cassation," he said.
Furthermore, Acting Director General of Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Textile Industries (IKFT) of the Ministry of Industry, Reni Yanita, stated that the raw materials needed by Sritex are currently still in the process of being imported.
This is because when the largest textile company in Southeast Asia was declared bankrupt, access to the tied zone was frozen.
"When Customs and Excise went bankrupt anticipating, maybe whether he was too attractive or what, finally all the facilities were frozen, the language. So for that when it was frozen, we had a process to reopen it," he said.

Previously, the President Director of PT Sri Rejeki Isman Tbk or Sritex Iwan Kurniawan Lukminto explained that the employee who was closed was due to problems regarding the supply of stalled raw materials.
He also admitted that workers who were laid off still got salaries.
Iwan said that this number will continue to increase if there is no decision from the curator and supervisory judge for business sustainability permits, because the standard availability is said to be only able to survive production for the next three weeks.
