Honda Successfully Increases Motorcycle Sales Globally, Asia Becomes Main Market

Honda managed to record a positive achievement in the global automotive industry in 2024, especially in the sales segment of motorcycles, although other automotive sectors experienced a decline.

Based on the company's latest financial report, the six-month period ending on September 30, 2024 showed significant sales increases in various regions, including Asia, North America, and Europe.

Reported by Visordown, quoted on Thursday, November 14, Honda sales rose in the motorcycle segment, including ATV and UTV, with total sales reaching 18,819,000 units in 2024. This figure is an increase compared to the same period in 2023, where Honda recorded 18,757,000 units sold. This means that there is an increase of 61 thousand units a year.

Honda's increased sales also boosted revenue growth and operating profit, which were respectively higher than the previous year. The company is optimistic that this positive trend will continue until March 2025.

In the international market, the five countries that contributed greatly to Honda motorcycle sales were India, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, and Brazil. India and Vietnam are the main drivers with strong demand and significant economic recovery, although sales in Thailand have decreased due to the economic slowdown.

Interestingly, Honda still leads the motorcycle market in the UK despite a decline in sales by 7.1 percent. The second position is occupied by Triumph, which actually won an increase of 26.3 percent.

Honda's achievements this year show how strong global demand for motorcycle products is amid the world's economic challenges that hit various sectors. With this result, Honda continues to maintain its dominance in the global market and proves its strength as a leader in the two-wheeled automotive industry.
