President Biden And Donald Trump To Meet In The Oval Room To Discuss Transition, White House: That's Norma
JAKARTA - President Joe Biden will host President-elect Donald Trump at the White House on Wednesday, a meeting designed to demonstrate a peaceful transition between governments, although the Trump team has not signed documents to begin the handover process.
President Biden, who initially ran against Trump in the 2024 election before resigning and supporting Vice President Kamala Harris as a candidate from the Democratic Party, will welcome the former and presidential candidate to the Oval Room, traditional courtesy by the president who will step down which Trump, a Republican, gave Biden in 2020 when he won.
