The Distribution Of Social Assistance Stopped Ahead Of The Pilkada, The Minister Of Home Affairs Will Issue A Circular Tomorrow

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) has ensured that the distribution of social assistance (bansos) is temporarily suspended ahead of the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada voting day. Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian will soon issue an official circular regarding this matter.

"Yes, tomorrow the circular will be circulated," said Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Bima Arya Sugiarto, Tuesday, November 12.

Bima stated that the distribution of social assistance would resume after the democratic party for regional head elections throughout Indonesia was completed.

"No (distributed, red), social assistance is postponed until the election is over, throughout Indonesia," said Bima.

Nevertheless, Bima said, the distribution of social assistance will still be carried out specifically for disaster-affected areas. Such as the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara.

"Except for areas that were hit by a disaster, there was an eruption in East Flores, yes, if something else is postponed first," said the former Mayor of Bogor.

Bima explained that the temporary suspension applies to all types of social assistance. Both basic necessities and direct cash assistance.

"Everything, there are usually basic ingredients, others, of course later if there are things that then become questions, we will coordinate them again. But the substance is like that, the exception is only in disaster areas, tomorrow the official circular is circulated," he concluded.
