Police Arrest Student In Palangka Raya Dealer Nearly 1 Kilogram Of Marijuana
PALANGKA RAYA - The Central Kalimantan Police's Narcotics Directorate arrested a student at a university in Palangka Raya with the initials GS (22) suspected of distributing or storing a package of marijuana-type narcotics weighing a total of 910 grams.
The Head of Public Relations of the Central Kalimantan Police, Kombes Erlan Munaji, said that GS was secured by law enforcement officers because he was caught storing the illicit goods allegedly belonging to HS (23) who is currently languishing in the Class IIA Palangka Raya Detention Center (Rutan).
"The arrest of GS stems from public reports regarding drug trafficking that often occurs on Jalan Pangeran Samudra 1 Palangka Raya," Erlan said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 12.
Before the arrest of members of the Narcotics Directorate of the Central Kalimantan Police conducted an investigation, as a result, the members managed to identify the perpetrators.
Police secured GS at one of the barracks on Jalan Pangeran Samuda 1, Palangka Raya City, on Friday, November 8, 2024.
Then, after being asked for further information, GS admitted that the illicit goods were stored in his barracks on orders from HS which was communicated via cellphone while at the Class IIA Palangka Raya Detention Center.

"Our members without waiting long immediately moved and arrested HS, whose position was in the Class IIA Palangka Raya Detention Center without a fight," he said.
The police secured evidence of a package of marijuana-type narcotics weighing a total of 910 grams, two cellphones used by the perpetrators to communicate, and one digital scale.
"To account for his actions, the perpetrator is charged with Article 111 Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 132 Paragraph (1) of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics," said Erlan.
