Shoigu: Russia And China Must Fight Any 'Strengthening' Policy Of The United States

JAKARTA - Russia's main task and China are against any US efforts to stem their country, Russian President Vladimir Putin's ally Sergei Shoigu told Chinese Foreign Minister on Tuesday.

US President-elect Donald Trump has threatened to impose a high tariff on China and other countries, raising fears of a trade war, with the United States regarding China as its biggest competitor and Russia as its biggest threat.

Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergei Shoigu told Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing the strong relationship between Moscow and Beijing was an influence that stabilized the world.

"I see the most important task is to fight Russia and China's 'double-defense' policies carried out by the United States and its satellite countries," Shoigu was quoted as saying by the Russian government news agency.

It is known that President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin in May promised a "newera" partnership between the two strongest US competitors.

President Xi and President Putin believe that the post-Cold War era with the extraordinary dominance of Uncle Sam's country is collapsing after insults felt by the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 and European colonial domination for centuries over China.
