Ani Yudhoyono Receives Award From UNESCO In Today's Memory, 12 November 2013

JAKARTA Memories of today, 11 years ago, 12 November 2013, First Lady, Christian Herawati (Ani Yudhoyono) received the Women Empowerment in Education award from L'Oreal and UNESCO. The award from the UN agency for education, science and culture was welcomed with joy.

Previously, Mrs. Ani tried to prove that the role of the first lady was not only to accompany her husband. She can also actively help others. She formed a forum called Solidarity of the Wife of the United Indonesia Cabinet (SIKIB).

Efforts to contribute to the nation and state are a call to heart. That's what Mrs. Ani has done since her husband, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) became President of Indonesia. She doesn't want to just be able to accompany her husband. Mrs. Ani wants to actively contribute to building Indonesia.

Mrs. Ani is not alone. She and the wives of the Ministers of the United Indonesia Cabinet built SIKIB. The gathering is proof that women do not only live in kitchen matters. SIKIB can be present to educate the lives of the nation's children, especially women.

This form is presented in various forms of initiation that focus on education, the environment, creativity, and health. Take for example in the field of education. Mrs. Ani provides room for learning for Indonesian children in various regions to add knowledge in Smart Homes since 2005.

The presence of a Smart House is a medium for children to play and study after school. There are educational learning facilities and there are also games. The progress of the Smart House is quite fast. The Smart House has built 292 units in June 2012.

The Smart Houses are scattered in various parts of the archipelago. Children, especially women, can develop their talents and creativity. The hope is that they can grow as intelligent people who fully contribute to the progress of the nation and state.

We also set up a Smart House. It is a challenge for us to create a vehicle that is able to be a bonus for children to learn and play after school. Because of the shape of the house, we can provide more facilities, ranging from books and learning and playing activities. "

"There are four centers available in each of these services, namely book centers, educational game centers, visual audio centers, and computer centers. Especially for Smart Houses plus craft centers," said Ani Yudhoyono as written by Alberthiene Endah in the book Ani Yudhoyono: 10 Years of Heart Travel (2018).

The existence of Mrs. Ani's breakthrough to empower women and children continues. At its peak, Mrs. Ani's move received appreciation from L'Oreal and UNESCO on November 12, 2013. Mrs. Ani was awarded the Women Empowerment in Education award.

The award was given to coincide with the one-decade commemoration of L'Oreal-UNESCO for Women in Science, The World Science Day for Peace and Development at the University of Indonesia, Depok, West Java. Mrs. Ani also received a lively welcome.

Ani's mother is considered capable of being a pioneer who cares about the fate of women. Women must be able to advance in education and culture.

"This is an acknowledgment of his longstanding commitments and innovative contributions to improving the standard of living of Indonesian women and children," said Deputy Director of UNESCO Regional Science Bureau for Asia and the Pacific, Shabaz Khan as quoted by the ANTARA website, 12 November 2013.
