AS Roma Fires Ivan Juric, Replacement Candidate Appears

JAKARTA - AS Roma sacked Ivan Juric after a 2-3 defeat against Bologna at the Olimpico in the 12th week of Serie A 2024/2025, Sunday, November 10, 2024.

Juric has only won four games out of 16 games in all competitions this season.

The decision to dismiss was inevitable considering that the Croatian coach had been supervised by club officials over the past few weeks.

"We want to thank Ivan Juric for his hard work in the last few weeks."

"He manages a difficult environment with the best professionalism and we thank him."

"We wish the best for the future. The search for a new manager has begun and will be announced in the next few days," AS Roma said in an official statement on Monday, November 11, 2024.

AS Roma officials have yet to choose a replacement for Juric. However, according to Sky Sport Italia, the Giallorossi will appoint a new coach on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, local time.

Players have also been given two holidays while at the same time in the competition for the next week or so.

However, several famous names are associated with the Giallorossi. There are names of foreign coaches, such as Frank Lampard, Rudi Garcia, who held back Roma in 2013-2016, to Edin Terzic.

Then, according to Gazzetta, there was also a row of local coaches who showed up, such as Roberto Mancini who was unemployed after being fired by the Saudi Arabian national team, and Massimiliano Allegri who had not worked since being sacked by Juventus at the end of last season.

AS Roma are now only four points away from the Serie A relegation zone this season. They are ranked 12th with only 13 points from three wins, four draws, and five defeats.

Throughout this season, Juric has only recorded 1.25 points per game, the lowest number among other AS Roma coaches in 20 years.

The journey in the 2024/2025 Europa League is also far from good. The Giallorossi are ranked 20th with a collection of five points from one win, two draws, and one defeat.

AS Roma has replaced three coaches in 11 months.
