Coreng Citra TNI, Legislator DPR Asks Perpetrators Of Persecution In Deli Serdang To Be Strictly Punished

Member of Commission I DPR TB Hasanuddin condemned the attack on dozens of TNI soldiers into a village in Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, causing a resident to die. He asked the perpetrators of the attack until his commanders were severely punished.

"We condemn the attacks carried out by dozens of TNI soldiers from the Medan-2/Sumagan Kostrad Artillery Battalion to residents in Deli Serdang. This has been categorized as a murder case," said TB Hasanuddin, Monday, November 11.

TB Hasanuddin said the actions of the TNI personnel were very contrary to the oath of soldiers and Sata Marga. According to him, such incidents are very embarrassing and tarnish the image of the TNI which should be the protector of the people.

"This is very embarrassing and tarnishing the image of the TNI," said the TNI Major General (Ret.).

"Of course we express our deep concern for the residents of Selamat Village and condolences for the victims who died and the injuries caused by the attack on TNI personnel," added TB Hasanuddin.

The man who is familiarly called Kang TB also asked the Commander of Kodam I/Bukit Barisan Lt. Gen. Mochammad Hasan to take firm action against the perpetrators of the attack. Letjan M Hasan himself visited Selamat Village and apologized to residents for the disgraceful behavior of Medan personnel Yon Armed-2/KS.

"Just an apology is not enough! The Kodam Commander must take a crackdown on soldiers involved in attacks on residents," he said.

Previously, Kodam I/BB had confirmed that there were around 33 TNI soldiers involved in this incident. They have been questioned at Pomdam I Bukit Barisan to find out their respective roles in the attack.

Kang TB then asked the Bukit Barisan Pomdam I to investigate the motive for the attack because there was no clarity regarding this matter. He also encouraged the TNI to investigate the involvement of other soldiers.

"If necessary, give harsh punishment to the Pleton Commanders, Company Commanders, and Battalion Commanders for neglecting the violence committed by their soldiers," concluded Kang TB.

As is known, dozens of TNI personnel from Yon Armed-2/KS Medan carried out attacks on Selamat Village, Sibiru-biru District, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra on Friday, November 8, at midnight. As a result of this attack, a resident named Raden Barus (60) died and dozens of other people were injured.

According to residents who were victims, the situation of Selamat Village was very tense when the attack took place. Dozens of TNI soldiers, the majority of whom came wearing official uniforms, broke into people's homes and carried out various acts of violence using various weapons, including machetes, double sticks, and pistols.

Not only did it kill one person, a number of residents suffered serious injuries including a leaking head, bruised back, and swollen hands due to the anarchist actions of the TNI personnel.
