Confiscated IDR 2.8 Billion, The Role Of 2 New Online Gambling Suspects By Komdigi To Protect Websites Is Not Blocked

Polda Metro Jaya revealed the role of two suspects in the online gambling case involving employees of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi). One of his roles is to keep the website from being blocked. Of the 2 suspects, Rp 2.8 billion was confiscated.

Director of General Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimum) Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Wira Satya Triputra explained that the suspect with the initials MN has a role as a liaison between online bookies and other suspects.

"So I repeat again that the role of MN is the one who deposits money and deposits or submits a website list to keep the website from being blocked," said Wira in his statement, Sunday, November 10.

One other suspect, DM has a role in assisting MN's actions by accommodating the proceeds of the crime.

He explained that of the two suspects arrested, one of them was a suspect who was on the wanted list (DPO).

"For the hard work of fellow investigators in the field, that on November 9, 2024, the team managed to secure one of the DPOs with the initials MN," he said.

Apart from MN, from the results of the development of the police investigation, he also arrested one other perpetrator, namely DM.

"Furthermore, development was carried out and another suspect was found with the initials DM who was involved with online gambling," he said.

From the arrests of the two suspects, the police managed to secure a number of evidences including Rp. 300 million in cash and Rp. 2.8 billion in the suspect's account.

The police have not explained in detail the identity and chronology of the arrest of an online gambling suspect involving a Komdigi employee. Currently, the two suspects were immediately taken to Polda Metro Jaya for further investigation.
