739 Joint Personnel Secure FPI's Palestinian Defense Action At The US Embassy

JAKARTA - The police deployed 739 joint personnel to secure Palestinian defense action from the DKI Jakarta Islamic Brotherhood Front (FPI) in front of the United States Embassy (US Embassy), Central Jakarta.

"In order to secure the protest action from FPI today, we involved 739 joint personnel," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Police Commissioner Susatyo Purnomo Condro when confirmed, quoted by ANTARA Jakarta, Sunday, November 10.

The joint personnel came from Polda Metro Jaya, Polres Metro Central Jakarta, TNI, Provincial Government (Pemprov) DKI and related agencies. Personnel are placed at a number of points around the US Embassy.

Susatyo said that traffic diversion is still situational. This means that traffic flow engineering will be implemented to see developments and dynamics of the situation on the ground.

"If the mass is not large, the traffic is normal as usual. We will see the mass, if later around the US Embassy the mass is quite large and the escalation increases, then the flow on Jalan Merdeka Selatan will be diverted," said Susatyo.

Susatyo appealed to residents who would pass around the National Monument (Monas) area to find other alternative roads to avoid vehicle congestion.

In addition, Susatyo reminded all personnel involved in security to always act persuasively, not provoking and being provoked, prioritizing negotiations, humane services and maintaining security and safety.

Meanwhile, field coordinators (korlap) and orators are asked to conduct speeches in a polite manner and not provoke the masses.

"Convey opinions peacefully, do not impose will, do not be anarchic and do not damage public facilities. Respect and respect other road users who will pass in front of the US Embassy and several other locations," he said.

As for the personnel involved in the security, no one carries weapons and still appreciates the mass action that will express their opinion.
