Garuda Directors Will Be Overhauled, Lion Air Boss Enters The Ranks?
JAKARTA - PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk is scheduled to hold an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) on Friday, November 15. One of the agendas is the reshuffle of the Board of Commissioners and Directors.
The news was confirmed by the President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra. Irfan said the issuer with the stock code GIAA will hold an GMS in the near future.
"Yes, there is indeed an GMS on the 15th, the EGMS, the agenda is changes to the board, the board is the director and commissioner," said Irfan after the launch of Livery Pikachu Jet GA-2 at The Dome Senayan Park, Jakarta, Friday, November 8.
For your information, the Acting CEO of Lion Air, Deputy Minister Tsani Panjaitan will replace Irfan Setiaputra in the position of President Director of Garuda.
When asked about the possibility of Military Officer Tsani entering Garuda's board of directors, Irfan admitted that he did not know about this. However, Irfan said, the candidate for Garuda Indonesia management is the shareholder's authority, in this case the Ministry of SOEs.
"We are professionals, so when we are asked to thank you, when we replace it we also thank you, if it really needs to be replaced. So this is beyond our authority as a professional, so this is entirely the authority of the shareholders, and we respect that," said Irfan.
Furthermore, Irfan said, shareholders have many considerations to elect candidates for the management of Garuda Indonesia.
"Shareholders certainly have a lot of considerations that we also will not ask because we are professionals," said Irfan.
Previously, the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir spoke up regarding the reshuffle of the Garuda Board of Directors. However, Erick only suggested waiting for the GMS to be held.
"Yes, just wait for people not to have a GMS," said Erick.
