Involve BPPIK, Erick Thohir Continues Cleaning SOEs

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir is committed to continuing the SOE cleaning program.

This program continues to ensure that non-tax state revenues run well.

This time, Erick also collaborated with the Special Development and Investigation Control Agency (BPPIK) in carrying out programs within state-owned companies.

This commitment was conveyed by Erick after meeting with the Head of BPPIK Aries Marsudiyanto at the Ministry of SOEs Office, Jakarta, Friday, November 8.

"The BUMN cleaning program that has been running, where at the beginning we knew there were many cases where at that time there was Asabri, there was Jiwasraya, there was Garuda and of course it is the same in the second period of the SOE cleaning program that must continue to be carried out," said Erick.

Erick also said that investigations within state-owned companies also need to be carried out if there are indications of misappropriation. Because, according to Erick, encouraging economic growth cannot only be done through economic programs but also by increasing efficiency.

"We will synergize how this development must necessarily have control and of course there must also be investigations if there is fraud. Because it is impossible for us to suppress growth just to encourage economic programs," he added.

"But one of the things that Pak Prabowo wants is how efficiency must be cut," he continued.

Regarding efficiency, Erick said the Ministry of SOEs has so far done it. Starting from blessing, holding and clustering. So far, according to him, what has been done has paid off.

In BUMN also from 114 to 47 it is also efficiency. And proving that the number of SOEs does not mean that the condition is healthy. But with the number of SOEs currently 47 prove this is healthy. The 40 are healthy, the seven are still restructuring," he said.

Regarding this clean-up, Erick emphasized that he is ready to collaborate with BPPIK to fight corruption and bring efficiency within SOEs.

"So I'm ready. I opened the door as wide as possible. Because we believe we can move forward because it is efficiency and also suppresses what is called corruption," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of BPPIK Aries Marsudiyanto said he would pursue budget waste sources that occurred in various aspects. He said the move was in line with President Prabowo Subianto's attention.

"We all know that he has said several times that corruption, waste, leakage in Indonesia is extraordinary. Even the authorities have also been involved in it, who should have cleaned up playing," he said.

"Therefore, we from the Special Development and Investigation Control Agency will be more concerned to cooperate with all law enforcement officials to follow up on this to its roots," he continued.

Quoting Prabowo, Aries emphasized that the government could not run well if the meeting was involved in corruption. Therefore, Aries assessed that firm efforts were needed in fighting corruption.

"We will follow up on this to the roots, to the lowest leaders, even to regional heads so that they ensure, control, and supervise the APBN, the APBD should run properly," he explained.
