Bentley Will Launch Luxury Electric SUV And Affirm Focus On Selling Pure Electric Cars From 2035
JAKARTA - A luxury British car brand, Bentley is preparing to launch its first electric vehicle in 2026. Under the Beyond100 flag, this electric vehicle will be present in the form of a luxury SUV.
The electric SUV, which has not yet been named, is called Bentley as an "Urban SUV". This car will be built based on experience obtained by the company from the development of their latest plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV).
Almost four years since Bentley first announced Beyond100's strategy, we are adapting to today's economic, market and legislative environments to start a major transformative phase in the future. Beyond100+ is our guideline in expanding our ambition beyond 2030, while maintaining our goal for a carbon-free future, including offering only fully electric cars starting in 2035, "said Bentley Motors CEO Frank-Steffen Walliser, in the manufacturer's media space, quoted Friday, November 8.

The complete details of the Urban SUV have yet to be disclosed, but from the teaser images released, it can be seen that this electric SUV is likely to share some of the design characteristics with Bentayga. Bentley also called it an "Urban SUV", which indicates that it will be smaller than Bentayga and easier to maneuver in dense urban centers such as London, New York, and others.
In addition to the teaser, Bentley also confirmed that the company will launch a new PHEV or BEV every year until 2035. Starting in 2035 onwards, Bentley hopes that all of its new products will become fully electric vehicles.
Bentley also stated that the electric SUV will be designed, developed, and manufactured at its headquarters in Crewe, England. However, it is not surprising that the company is taking advantage of some of the learning from electric vehicles developed by companies in the Volkswagen group. It is worth waiting until 2026 to see firsthand this Urban electric SUV.
