President Pezeshkian: Whoever Wins US Presidential Election Is Not A Problem For Iran

JAKARTA - President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Thursday whoever won the United States presidential election was not a problem for Iran.

Donald Trump, who was paired with JD Vance and promoted by the Republican Party, won the presidential election after earning more than 270 electoral votes, a minimum threshold to win the contestation of 538 electoral votes contested in 50 states and the District of Columbia, over rivals from the Democratic Party, the incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris and Team Walz.

"There is no difference for us, any candidate who wins the US presidential election," he said, quoted from IRNA on November 8.

President Pezeshkian said Iranians rely on their inner strength, he said, praising his country for its dignity.

"Iran does not have a limited view in developing its relationship with other countries," he said.

The expansion of relations with Islamic countries and neighboring countries is one of Iran's top priorities, he said.

The president, in another part of his statement, called for the creation of unity and solidarity among Islamic countries.

"If all countries in the Islamic world are brothers and united, the Zionist regime will not dare to commit crimes against the Palestinian and Lebanese people who are oppressed," he said.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said on Thursday the United States election was an opportunity to review the "misproximation" of the United States Government.

"We have had bitter experiences with various policies and approaches of the US government in the past. Elections are an opportunity to review past wrong approaches," Baghaei said.

"What matters to Iran is how we evaluate the actions of the US Government," said Baghaei.
