Wanting To Take Advantage Of Corruptor Asset Land, PKP Minister Maruarar Coordinates With KPK

JAKARTA - Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait and his deputy, Fahri Hamzah, visited the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta. Both intend to coordinate to utilize land assets confiscated by corruptors.

"We also ask that assets, especially land that is ideal, ideally suitable for people's housing, may be utilized by the Indonesian people," Maruarar told reporters, Tuesday, November 5.

Maruarar said a similar request had also been submitted to the Attorney General's Office.

"So that the lands of the corruptors can be used for housing for the Indonesian people who are still lacking or do not have a home," he said.

"And we feel great support," continued Maruarar.

He said the meeting with the head of the anti-corruption commission was quite effective. He claimed that the two-hour discussion had discussed the implementation system.

"So the system will also be created, the person will also be created, and then there will be follow-up again. And I think this is a very productive meeting," said Maruarar.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Johanis Tanak said his agency would certainly fully support President Prabowo Subianto's government program. The KPK will invest land and building assets that can be used by ministries, including the Ministry of PKP.

"And if there is a Ministry Letter to request a priority scale, we will give it to the ministry to be used as a people's home," said Johanis after the meeting.

"So all assets of houses, land, and buildings are sometimes vacant land as long as the ministry can take advantage of everything, we will inventory according to the provisions of the legislation and coordinate with the Ministry of Finance, in this case the Director General of State Assets," he concluded.
